The films in the prequel trilogy of the Star Wars franchise aren’t looked upon with the highest of respects. They did give us some vital assets to the Star Wars canon like Ewan McGregor as a young Obi-Wan Kenobi and the knowledge that it pays to have the higher ground.

This last week marked the 16th anniversary of Hayden Christensen putting on the iconic Darth Vader costume for Star Wars: Revenge of the Sith. Lucasfilm celebrated this fact with a Facebook post.

Love or hate the films, this is still a pretty cool set of pics. I am totally jealous that I will never be one of the chosen few to wear one of the coolest costumes ever designed for movies. A lot of people dislike George Lucas’ choice of Christensen but they look like they are having fun.

When previously talking about putting on the Darth Vader suit Christensen told MTV:

“From the moment I got the part, this is what I’ve been looking forward to. It was so cool putting on that Darth Vader suit. It’s hard to describe it. Every emotion you could imagine was just overwhelming, thrilling, empowering and saddening because it meant real closure for me. It meant my task was complete. As an actor, it’s always very freeing to be able to act behind a mask, but to be the face of Darth Vader is like no other experience.”
