On Dec 18th, 2015 Grab the Popcorn launched their 1st official event hosted at the Carmike Cinema in Pensacola, FL. Roughly 110 friends, family and fans of our website met together for a private screening of Star Wars VII: The Force Awakens. This long anticipated movie brought out people of all ages to watch one of the year’s most long awaited movie. There was smiles and laughs all around and everyone had a great time to say the least! Popcorn, candy and soda flew through the room (literally at times) as children and some adults got to watch a Star Wars’ film for the first time in the theatre the way it should be. This family event was a success and everyone came out with smiles and a few in tears.

We had some of our fans dress up as Kylo Ren (see below) as well as Jedi (not pictured). With a group of all ages ranging from 8 years old to over 60 yrs old all  gathered together roughly an hour before the doors open to the public for this early showing. Comfortably seated in a 250 seat theatre, elbow room was found everywhere.

Just a few months ago, Grab the Popcorn was started as an entertainment website with the intentions to create events like this one. Our goal is not only to offer up to date news and gossip on the latest movies, but to also help bring friends and families who are local (for now)  to the the movie theatre together.
