Frank Oz Might Be Reprising His Role as Yoda in STAR WARS: THE LAST JEDI

With Luke Skywalker set to play a major role in Star Wars: The Last Jedi, a lot of fans have been wondering if we might also see force ghost versions of Obi-Wan Kenobi and/or Yoda. It’s not too far-fetched to think that we might see these characters in the film.
Frank Oz, the original voice of Yoda. was recently asked if Yoda would make an appearance in the movie, and although he didn’t confirm it, he didn’t deny it either, and that’s saying something. This is the intriguing answer he gave Variety:
“I feel like I’m a prisoner at war here, and I can only give you my name, rank and serial number. To be true to the people who asked me, and they are kind of my family, I have to say I’ve been asked not to talk about it. I love Yoda. I would be happy to talk to you about it at the time they let me.”
Here’s the thing, if he wasn’t playing Yoda in the movie, all he would have to do is give a simple “no” as an answer. Instead, he says, “I’ve been asked not to talk about it,” and that he’d be happy to talk about it after “They let me.” Why are Disney and Lucasfilm specifically asking him not to talk about it, and why does he need their permission if he’s not reprising the role of Yoda?
His response definitely implies that Yoda could show up in the movie, and I hope he does! I hope he comes in to offer some more advice that will help Luke Skywalker on his new journey. There have been previous rumors regarding Oz’s reprisal of Yoda, but this is the first time he’s actually said anything about it.
We’ll find out for sure whether Yoda is in the movie when it’s released in December. Do you hope to see Yoda The Last Jedi?
