Donald Glover Teases a Millennium Falcon Shot in SOLO That We've Never Seen in a STAR WARS Film Before

As Star Wars fans patiently wait for the first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story, which is supposedly going to be released soon, Donald Glover talks about the film and teases a cool sounding Millennium Falcon shot. It’s explained that this type of shot has never been in a Star Wars movie before.

“I remember going on set one of the first times, he was like, ‘Yeah, I want to follow you onto the Millennium Falcon and do this thing’. I was like, ‘I don’t think I’ve ever seen the outside go into the inside.’ He’s like, ‘Yeah, no one’s ever done that shot.’ As a fan I was like yeah, I was really excited. I know there’s been a lot of talk in the press about this movie but for me anyway, it was a dream and also it looks really cool to me.”

Sounds like it could be a pretty rad shot to me! I imagine it like a Fast and Furious-type shot, but in the Millennium Falcon instead of a suped-up car. Glover goes on to talk about Ron Howard taking over for Phil Lord and Chris Miller and says that he didn’t do a lot of reshoots with the director:

“Not a ton actually. Not a lot at all, at least not for me. I think we’ve all never been faced with anything like that and I think he did a good job of coming and tell us he didn’t want to change what we were doing at all. He wanted us to remain confident in our vision. He just wanted to sculpt it in a way.”

Glover explains that Howard was supportive of how he was playing Lando. I personally think that Glover’s Lando might just be the character who steals the show in Solo. He went on to talk about the advice he received from Billy Dee Williams:

“He just told me to be charming. I was like that’s the best advice ever.”

Having had the opportunity to meet Donald Glover and interview him before he became a big star, I can say that he is just a naturally charming dude who is going to kill it in this role. He also shared a cool experience about bringing his dad onto the set of the film, saying:

“A big part of it was bringing my dad to see it. Growing up, he was like, ‘This is really cool. This is the only black guy in space.’ Now I get to be like, oh this is cool. You get to walk on here and see this. It was really fun. Man, it was such a blast. The Millennium Falcon is beautiful. It’s a beautiful, beautiful piece of architecture. Flying that was really fun.”

And in case you were wondering, yes… Glover will wear a cape.
