The sci-fi documentary series James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction first aired on AMC in 2018 as part of the AMC Visionaries series, and is now available on DVD and Blu-ray. The show, which is hosted by Academy Award winning director James Cameron (Titanic, Avatar), dives into the history of science fiction in filmmaking, and interviews iconic directors and actors Steven Spielberg (Close Encounters of the Third Kind, E.T. the Extra-Terrestrial), George Lucas (Star Wars Franchise), Ridley Scott (The Martian, Blade Runner), Christopher Nolan (Tenet, Interstellar), Will Smith (Men in Black, I Am Legend), Arnold Schwarzenegger (Predator, Terminator), and Bruce Willis (Die Hard, The Sixth Sense).

I was able to get a copy of this doc from RLJE Films, and it was enthralling. It was really cool to hear Cameron talk to his peers in filmmaking, who pioneered the films that gripped the sci-fi audiences and molded the future of the genre. I definitely recommend James Cameron’s Story of Science Fiction to anyone who has a love of films, especially sci-fi.
