The sci-fi thriller movie based on Patrick Ness’ YA book of the same name, Chaos Walking, will be undergoing some major reshoots according to The Hollywood Reporter. The film will star Tom Holland (Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War) and Daisy Ridley (Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Star Wars: The Force Awakens) as the main characters Todd Hewlitt and Viola Eade.
These two big stars make it hard to schedule the reshoots which Ness is said to be in negotiations to write. Holland will be filming the sequel to Spider-Man: Homecoming this summer and Ridley will be busy filming Star Wars: Episode IX. This puts the reshoots, which will reportedly take two to three weeks to film, off to being worked on in December 2018, or possibly even January 2019.
Joining Ridley and Holland are Mads Mikkelsen (Rogue One) as Mayor Prentiss, Nick Jonas (Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle) as Davy Prentiss Jr., Demian Bichir (Alien: Covenant) will play Ben, Kurt Sutter will be Cillian, and Aaron will be played by David Oyelowo (Selma, Interstellar). Edge of Tomorrow director Doug Liman is directing the film.
What do you think of the new norm of major reshoots?
Chaos Walking is still slated for release March 1, 2019.
