We’ve got some new information to share with you regarding Jon Favreau’s Star Wars series The Mandalorian. Fans seem to be super stoked for this series, especially with the line-up of directors that it has! That director list includes Deborah Chow, Bryce Dallas Howard, Taika Waititi, Rick Famiuywa and Dave Filoni.
We still have yet to hear any official information regarding the casting, but according to Discussing Film, directors Taika Waititi and Bryce Dallas Howard will not only direct episodes of the show but are also rumored to have roles in the show as well.
There’s no word on who Howard will play, but Waititi’s character is said to be a droid. The report goes on to say that these characters will not have lead roles. We don’t know what the extent of their roles in the series will be.
After the stories of Jango and Boba Fett, another warrior emerges in the Star Warsuniverse. The Mandalorian is set after the fall of the Empire and before the emergence of the First Order. We follow the travails of a lone gunfighter in the outer reaches of the galaxy far from the authority of the New Republic.
The Mandalorian is current in production and it will probably premiere at some point next year Disney’s streaming service.
