Disney+ has ordered a new game show called Star Wars: Jedi Temple Challenge and Jar-Jar Binks actor, Ahmed Best, will be hosting the series.
The game show will bring in young contestants who will “face tests of ability in the core Jedi principles of strength, knowledge, and bravery while facing obstacles in an attempt to achieve the rank of Jedi Knight.”
Best will appear as Jedi master on the series and serve as a mentor to the contestants. Mary Holland has also been cast and will voice a humanoid droid companion. Lucasfilm’s senior director of Online Content and Programming, Mickey Capoferri said in a statement:
“This is definitely a kids game show like no other. The various challenges will test a Padawan’s connection to the Force in three locations — a forest planet, on board a Jedi star cruiser, and inside a Jedi Temple — immersing them and the audience in a fun, humorous, and exciting competition.”
This actually sounds like it could be incredibly fun for kids to be a part of. Now they need to develop some kind of crazy-ass Star Wars game show for the adult fans!
The series will debut on the streaming service in 2020. It is executive produced by Lucasfilm, Dean Houser, and David Chamberlin and Mike Antinoro from Endeavor Content.
