‘Crow’ Reboot Wants Jack Huston to Replace Luke Evans

NECyndrS1yK9FI_2_bDeadline reports that it isn’t ultimately clear if Jack Huston will officially sign on, but “signs are looking good.” Relativity reportedly wants to start production this spring, but that will likely depend on how quickly negotiations progress with Jack Huston. The original 1994 adaptation of The Crow starred Brandon Lee as Eric Draven, a rock star who is murdered alongside his fiancee, but then comes back from the dead to seek vengeance.Just over one month after actor Luke Evans dropped out of Relativity Media’s The Crow reboot, the studio is in early talks with Jack Huston to replace him. Nothing is set in stone at this time, but the Boardwalk Empire star is the studio’s top choice to play Eric Draven. We reported earlier this month that Sam Witwer was the top choice of James O’Barr, who created the comic book the reboot is based on, to take over the title role.

Corin Hardy (The Hallow) is directing from a script by Cliff Dorfman (Warrior), with Edward R. Pressman, Kevin Misher, Ryan Kavanaugh, Jeff Most and Jeff G. Waxman producing. Jack Huston is currently shooting director Timur Bekmambetov‘s Ben-Hur remake, and he will next be seen in The Longest Ride and Pride and Prejudice and Zombies.
