Disney+ has released a brand-spankin’-new trailer for the highly anticipated animated series from Lucasfilm, Star Wars: The Bad Batch, which is a spinoff of The Clone Wars.
The series follows the elite and experimental clones of the Bad Batch (first introduced in The Clone Wars), also known as Clone Force 99, “as they find their way in a rapidly changing galaxy in the immediate aftermath of the Clone War. Members of Bad Batch – a unique squad of clones who vary genetically from their brothers in the Clone Army — each possess a singular exceptional skill which makes them extraordinarily effective soldiers and a formidable crew. In the post-Clone War era, they will take on daring mercenary missions as they struggle to stay afloat and find new purpose.”
The Empire isn’t happy with Clone Force 99, and they want them wiped out, so they find themselves on the run and embarking on an adventure across the galaxy. They also enlist the help of a young kid who seems to know a lot about the Bad Batch team.
This series looks like it’s going to be a lot of fun, and I’m excited to see where the story takes these cool and unique Star Wars characters.
Star Wars: The Bad Batch makes its debut on Tuesday, May 4th, with a special 70-minute premiere, followed by new episodes every Friday starting on May 7th. I also included a new poster for the series that you can check out below the trailer.
